BetterCertify Student Code of Conduct

BetterCertify’s students are accountable for their conduct and must represent the company in a positive, responsible manner. This Student Code of Conduct sets forth the requirements for students of BetterCertify courses because students’ actions will impact and reflect directly upon BetterCertify.

Students in BetterCertify courses will be required to:

  1. Arrive on-time to online and in-house courses.
  2. For courses lasting multiple days, the student will attend class each day (no exceptions). 
  3. Provide thoughtful and respectful contributions to class discussions.
  4. Prior to the course date, the student will verify enrollment.
  5. For online courses, provide the necessary means of attending the course (including without limitation, supplying their own computer or similar device, internet access, and other required equipment).
  6. For online courses, the student will verify that his or her equipment meets the necessary minimum requirements before the course begins. 
  7. Students will verify enrollment in the correct course before the start date.
  8. Hold in strict confidence all confidential BetterCertify (or affiliates or other third party) materials to which they are given access.
  9. For online courses, immediately notify the course instructor or other BetterCertify representative if they know or suspect someone has improperly gained access to confidential login information.
  10. For online courses, comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the web-based platform or other service providers, including their terms of use.
  11. For online courses, technical difficulties must be reported in a timely fashion before the course begins.
  12. Be prepared by purchasing and receiving course books and other materials before the online start date.
  13. Students must make payment at time of enrollment, online or in person.
  14. In the event that a student cannot complete the course due to unforeseeable circumstances, the student must contact the Training Program Manager. Refunds may be given or denied by BetterCertify in its sole discretion, on a case-by-case basis.

(Any failure by BetterCertify to enforce or exercise any of the provisions herein shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.)

 

Misconduct and Disciplinary Actions:

Any student found to have committed any of the following acts of misconduct will be subject to potential disciplinary action, including suspension or permanent dismissal from class, and the course & materials fees will be non-refundable.

1. Acts of dishonesty including, but not limited to, the following:
a. Cheating
b. Plagiarism
c. Submitting the same work for different courses (unless disclosed to and approved by the instructor)
d. Furnishing false information to any BetterCertify representative, instructor, or administration
e. Forgery, alteration, or misuse of BetterCertify document, record, or instrument of identification
f. Computer piracy
g. Duplication or sharing of course access or login information, computer & LMS software, or other means of providing unauthorized computer entry or access to course materials or information
h. Infringement of BetterCertify’s or any other third party’s intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, or patent infringement
i. Falsified identity when using BetterCertify’s online course platform and proctoring system
j. Navigating away from the online classroom during the lesson or using outside sources during the course assignments
k. Assisting anyone in the commission of any acts stated above

2. Disruption or obstruction of teaching, administration, or other BetterCertify activities including public service functions on and off campus, or other events occurring on BetterCertify premises.

3. Any activity involving BetterCertify technology resources, which knowingly interferes with someone else’s academic freedom or the institution’s goals or policies.

4. Use of the course materials or web platform to upload, post, or otherwise transmit inappropriate material, including but not limited to: materials that infringe any person or entity’s intellectual property rights; unsolicited marketing information; libelous, obscene, deceptive, defamatory, pornographic, racist, sexual, hateful, unlawful or tortuous material; advertisements or solicitations of any kind; materials that spreading false information or propaganda, or any other material in violation of BetterCertify’s rights or any third-party rights.

5. Removal or modification of any proprietary marking or restrictive legends on course materials or the web platform.

6. Interference with or disruption of the integrity or performance of the web-based service.

7. Attempts to gain unauthorized access to the web based platform or related systems or networks.


8. Publication, resale, lease, transfer, license or other disclosure of the class materials, course login information, or web platform technology or other information without prior written approval of BetterCertify.

9. Reverse engineering of web platform technology.


10. Any violation, or attempt to violate, BetterCertify’s Terms of Use.

11. Any violation, or attempt to violate, any applicable laws, rules, regulations or other governmental order or mandate in connection with a BetterCertify course or materials, including using the information learned or obtained in any BetterCertify course for any illegal purpose.

You are solely responsible for all of your actions as they relate to participation in BetterCertify courses, including your use of course materials and information; your communications and interactions with other students, instructors, and BetterCertify’s members, managers, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, representatives and affiliates; and your access to and use of all web based services and content.
